This is part of a street mural ad by the animated cartoon channel, Adult Swim. It's a large mural painted right smack in the middle of the main drag. I just threw it in as a visual. It all kind of works together. Malevolent immaturity.

I just walked by again and literally overnight the Adult Swim mural was painted over by the OWS cult. I guess they related the ski-masked, underwear-clad mascot.

I came across this stenciled Thomas Jefferson quote yesterday painted on a warehouse wall. It is the second one like this I've seen lately around here. You can see the first one here.

It's an interesting series and it sure beats the hell out of all the other street 'art' in Williamsburg. I'm looking forward to finding more of them.

It's basically a point-and-shoot around here lately, with a camera that is. Every day it's something new. Now it's 'Violence Solves Everything'? What the hell is wrong with these people?

And as a bonus, last night just a few blocks from me here in my neck of the woods in Williamsburg, Brooklyn the local OWS jerks took over a building that was under construction and proceeded to riot.

The New York Daily News reports:

"DOZENS of partying Occupy Wall Street protesters descended on hipster Brooklyn Saturday night, clashing with police, throwing garbage cans and drinking beer out of a vacant luxury building.

The night was billed as a “Challenge to property relations party” in which the group planned to take over a building at the corner of N. Eighth and Driggs Sts. in Williamsburg, according to a flyer.

They hung Christmas lights, spray painted slogans like “F--k the police” and “Life is Protest” on the building walls, but were civilized enough to pack some beer on ice in the empty building at 208 N. Eighth St.

When police were called to bust up the party just before 11 p.m., the group of 30 party-hardy protesters marched down to the corner of N. Sixth and Bedford Sts. — in front of a New York Muffins shop — and began to chant their slogans, block traffic and toss garbage cans in the street.

Several police were injured in the fracas and a handful of protesters were arrested, witnesses and cops said."

I don't know how this one got by me for so long. It looks like it's been up for a while. Harkening back to the salad days of Occupied Zucotti Square it seems the poor little OWS pests felt that Nanny Bloomberg was hard too hard on them. Really? Bloomie gave them the keys to the city lock, stock and barrel. Run amok for months, they cost the taxpayer untold millions of dollars in lost business, closed businesses, garbage clean up, and 24-hour-a-day policing.

All that time and money, for what?

And how incredible is it that now we can't even have a parade for our returning soldiers.

CAIR NY Press Conference at City Hall: Calls for Investigations and Firings After Film "The Third Jihad" Used in NYPD Training

CAIR-NY held a press conference at City Hall this morning with a list of demands, among them calling for the firing of New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and NYPD Spokesman Paul Browne.

They also demanded that Eric Holder investigate the NYPD for the use of an anti-Islamic jihad documentary film, "The Third Jihad." The full-length documentary which opens with a disclaimer which states that only a small percentage of the world's Muslims are radical, details many terrorist attacks including the horrific 2004 slaughter in Beslan. It was produced by The Clarion Fund in 2007 warning against the dangers of violent Islamic jihad and was recently shown to cadets at the New York City Police Department playing in a continuous loop in a sign-in area of NYPD counterterrorism training sessions.

Ray Kelly appeared in the film for less than a minute. CAIR is demanding that Kelly be fired as well as NYPD Spokesman Paul Browne for denying NYPD involvement.

On top of everything else, CAIR is also demanding the "re-training" of the 1,489 police cadets who saw the film because they were obviously "poisoned" by it.

After witnessing mass murder when the World Trade Center burned and collapsed in 2001 and watching the past 10 years of global Islamic terrorism spill oceans of blood across the earth, I fail to see how insensitive this is. Zuhdi Jasser is even in it, for cripes sake! How does CAIR expect us to train our law enforcement to fight terrorism? Should we just show pillow fights between Mormons and Girl Scouts so no one gets 'offended'? Here's an idea, CAIR - how about just start broadcasting to Americans the daily TV programs from the middle east that depict Jews and Christians as apes and pigs? Or the ones that instruct children to blow themselves up in order to kill as many infidels as possible.

It struck me as funny because advocating indiscriminate general massacre would also have to include the spray-painter.
Maybe the sprayer is a card-carrying member of the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement.

Naturally it goes without saying that one can't just set about killing all unless one first attacks.

While out and about in my trendy, hipster wacko neighborhood all sorts of things catch my eye so I grab a quick shot and save them for later. Many are of a political nature but most are just arty and those tend to be generally very weird or not safe for work. The political ones don't always make it into posts but they are kind of amusing.

The one above I noticed this morning was posted on a mailbox by someone who hates the police.

The one of the 'End the Fed' variety is recent and very rare around these parts.
It has since been taken down.

This '99%'er apparently lives in a very nice building in what is now quite an expensive area to live in.

Money talks too much? I guess so.. OWS is broke!

Is this street art supposed to be Obama or Mandela? Or both? Is the 'Chairman' a reference to Mao? Kind of a grab bag of sorts. Very weather worn at this point.

Could even be Jimmy Carter's squint.

At first glance I though this was Obama.

Well, it's certainly been a helluva a year. The OWS Cult has certainly kept everyone busy, especially us bloggers. I am in the company of many, many outstanding citizen journalists who did what the mainstream media refuses to do -- Tell the Truth.

It was the gift that kept giving, if by 'gift' you mean the deaths, rapes, assaults, diseases, and the astronomical financial cost to the cities they infested for months.

It was the year I finally got Drudged.
The video I shot at Zucotti Square of the OWS zombies repeating 'You can have sex with animals' at a human mic session landed me a coveted Drudge link right above Kanye West's photo.

Manhattan Mini Storage Loves Gay Marriage & Hates Herman Cain

While on the FDR Drive in lower Manhattan the other day I saw these huge banners hung outside one of the Manhattan Mini Storage buildings. One faces north, the other south. You can't miss them.

I didn't have my camera with me so I went back to get a few shots. The utter, screaming hypocrisy is completely lost on them. Unproven allegations against Herman Cain - bad; gay marriage - good.

Their previous ads have attacked Bush, Cheney, Palin, the Tea Party and even used coat hangers in a pro-abortion ad for storage units. The schtick is usually a storage related joke with a jab at conservatives, but in Rick Perry's case they skipped the storage part and just plain call him crazy. Their gay marriage ad has no joke either. I guess the execs at Manhattan Mini Storage take gay marriage very, very seriously.

When the gay divorces start rolling in the need for mini storage will skyrocket.

Zucotti Square: Post-OWS Occupation

I stopped by Zucotti Square this morning and was happily surprised to see the place completely cleaned out. Other than the continued beefed-up police presence and barricades that fully encircle the park to keep the Marxist Occupiers from returning, it looked pretty normal.

Just a few tourists milling around, and a small stream of gawkers strolling by checking out the scene that is no more.

There was a very small and insignificant band of OWS cultists in attendance. But the tents, mind-numbing drumming, and disgusting odors were gone.

A cop I spoke with said that the barricades and police presence were going to be a semi-permanent fixture until further notice. The owners of the park also hired their own private security patrol.

There was even a family taking photos in front of the park Christmas tree.

The shantytown is gone, but the place will forever be a magnet for political street theater. Like this fellow who is a retired Philadelphia police officer.

It is a far, far cry from the Bloomberg-created nightmare that it was. But for some reason it felt tense and unsettled, like the place was bracing itself for another onslaught of insanity.

On the way upstate today for a Christmas visit I noticed this billboard for Manhattan Mini Storage. It is right at the entrance to the Holland Tunnel in Manhattan which goes to New Jersey. I managed to grab this shot entering the tunnel in a moving car.

I was already aware of and blogged about their subway ad campaign with the jab at Perry. But a whole billboard downtown? Seriously? The going price for a billboard in the city has got to be at least $100,000.00 or more. Why the overkill on Perry? Is it about his faith? Why not go after Romney, or Gingrich? Or, hey! How about that Ron Paul?

And how many New Yorkers or Jersey-ites do they think would even vote for Rick Perry? Maybe I'm weird, but personally, given an absolute choice right now at this very moment between the current Occupier of the White House and Perry, I'd go for Perry.

If Manhattan Mini Storage were really clever they could come up with at least a hundred storage rental jokes about

I don't need to tell lies about OWS, the horror script with you guys just seems to write itself. It's getting to be almost old hat to recount the daily OWS rapes, deaths, suicides, assaults, thefts, hypodermic needles and human waste running in rivers in our city streets.

So now you can add paralyzing New York City traffic, shutting down bridges and subways packed with honest citizens just assuming their lives, chasing down little grade school children and assaulting police officers.

Press Conference: New Yorkers and Local Business Owners Against OWS Zucotti Square Squatters

Tonight I went to the press conference for New York businesses against OWS Zucotti Square on the steps of City Hall.

A group of local business owners and residents organized a press conference to express their thoughts on evicting the squatters currently occupying Zucotti Square. Over the last two months the zoo-like atmosphere, the crime, the drumming, the garbage, the smell and lawbreaking has cost local businesses nearly $500,000.00 and workers are being laid off.

The below woman is the organizer of the press conference. She said she is hiding her identity out of fear of retribution from the OWS organization and the occupying squatters.

A handful of Zucotti-dwelling OWS cult members were also there to monitor and spin for the media. VIDEOS coming up!

Strange but true, some of the OWS cult members actually had the nerve to give her a hard time because she was wearing a mask.

This man represents a local restaurant that has been in business for 30 years. He explains how the Occupests have harmed his family-run business in the following two videos.

In the below video, local business man Marc Epstein explains that because of the nearly 2-month long siege and the ensuing chaos and disruption from occupied Zucotti Square he has had to lay people off for the first time in his career.

The media was out in force and greatly outnumbered the people speaking at the press conference. The questions they asked the business owners were incredibly dumb. Like, "Why do you feel the occupied square is driving away business?" Really? What makes them 'think' this? Well, for starters try the filth, the smell, the rapes, assaults, people using the city streets as a toilet for two months. It's as if they never even bothered to go to Zucotti and take a look for themselves and report what is really happening.

UPDATE Tuesday, 11/15: This morning at about 1:00 AM Eastern, the cops finally cleared the mob and their disgusting mess out of Zucotti Square.
It's about time!

Occupy Wall Street: Zucotti Square Day 53 & Counting - The Crazy Has Set In

So much has been said about this movement, it has no discernible point, it smells, it's violent, it has rapes, arson, assault, vandalism, theft and psychotics running the place along with a growing rap sheet, so I wasn't sure what else I could find. Since the encampments have become more and more dangerous, I wasn't sure I wanted to risk it, but I went anyway.

I went back to Zucotti Square yesterday because David Crosby and Graham Nash were going to perform and since I had the afternoon free I figured I'd head down to check out the absurd scenery. I missed the show but found something else: the Left's total hatred of Israel and probably Jews. Now, it's never been a secret but to see it openly and unchecked on full display was disturbing.

What struck me immediately was the bivouac-style tents and the permanence of the place. Here below is some video footage of the tents and a couple of OWS'ers defacing an American flag.

Hanging high and in the middle of it all, underscoring the risk of sexual assault in the occupied tent city is a large, painted canvas depicting the Virgin Mary as a protector of women and girls [and men!] from being raped.
How nice.

What can I possibly say about this, except for the draftsman's acute attention to anatomy and detail?

A great place to bring your kids!

In addition to the perversion and profanity I came across the following scenes and here's where it gets even uglier.

The takeaway? Jews are not loved at OWS.

The two gentlemen holding these two signs, above and below, were having a calm discussion about Israel and the Middle East. The guy with the 'end all wars and bombing' sign was pretty laid back and open to listening as the other recounted basic history of the founding of Israel. I have to admit, I was surprised to see an Israel supporter there so I hung out for a while to hear what he had to say.

At one point an older African American guy dressed up in elaborate beads, woven tribal garb and head dress came by and looked at the sign about rockets and Gaza. He asked the man holding it if he really believed what he had written. He that Israel is racist and they are just 'Europeans' who should 'go back to where they came from.' There was a lot of agreement from the small crowd.

As all this was happening I was aware of the rather large black guy immediately to my left. I wasn't paying too much attention to him but I did notice that he was paying very close attention to the conversation. Normally, I don't get involved or talk to the OWSers but when I said that Israel wants peace, the man next to me erupted out of his silence.

He ranted loudly for at least a full 3 minutes before I had the nerve to take out my camera. I made sure to glance over at the line of cops along the barricades because there was no telling what would happen. There were several very tense moments as I wondered if he would start throwing his fists.
All the spewing about Israel caught the attention of an Arab media camera crew, don't know which one. They, along with their translator took great interest in interviewing this angry man. So one could reasonably assume that this will be broadcast all over the Islamic world.

Manhattan Mini Storage Hates Rick Perry

I was on the subway headed downtown today to check out the the current state of the growing madness at Occupied Zucotti Square [more on that trip to psycho world coming up next]. This item caught my eye on the downtown bound No. 4 express train.

Manhattan Mini Storage, famous for their anti-conservative print ad campaigns is at it again, this time with Rick Perry in their sights. Normally the jokes are storage related but this one has abandoned their regular theme altogether and simply calls Rick Perry crazy.

These ads might actually be funny bits of political satire if they were equal opportunity jokes and went after both sides. Just think of the fun they could have with The Interventionist in Chief and his money-burning wife.

Occupy Wall Street Revisited - Zucotti Square: Bio-Hazard Colony Emits Weapons Grade Odor

Twenty two days into the Occupy Wall Street wail and whine festival a shanty town has taken root in the financial district. Curious about how things had developed since I was there over three weeks ago when the whole thing started, I decided to head downtown and check it over before they hose these bums off the sidewalk.

I've never seen anything like it before. The SMELL was overwhelming.
The below video actually conveys the experience.

Seriously, it was a disgusting, awful mess.
People were coughing and hacking, and itching and scratching.

Wandering carefully through the thick of things, which I can only liken to a jungle of pure filth, there was the definite sense that one could contract a number of contagious and very unpleasant sicknesses.

Casually reading a copy of The Onion camped out in a public park.

Sprawling squalor accompanied by endless drumming droning on in the background.

There were piles and piles of garbage.

Have I mentioned the SMELL? It was overpowering.

The square should be declared a public health hazard. Scrape these illegal squatters off the city streets. They are going to have to sandblast the place in order to decontaminate.

Finally uploaded all of the videos I shot at the debut of the Day o' Rage Occupy Wall Street thing a couple of weeks back. I found a couple of gems.

Like this one from Zucotti Square. A couple of raging revolutionaries are contemplating heading over to Wall Street and one of them asks,

I am going to head downtown tomorrow to see what's what before they hose these bums off the sidewalk. Apparently a shantytown of crybabies has sprung up and it has turned into a full-blown colonization at Zucotti Square.

Rallying the Ragers.

A cop I spoke to said that they didn't have any permits for this. The Ragers intend to camp out and spend the night, or two. Or possibly forever. They had raised their goal of $2,700 to feed themselves throughout their revolutionary encampment.

They came ready to stay. The guy here in the Superman get up brought his own eating utensils around his neck and a fuzzy sleeping back strung on his hip.

Oddly, right in the middle of this whole dark and dreary anemic outpouring of rage was a group of women from the World Spin in Public Day. Yes, there's a group of women who spin yarn and thread by hand in public. They had nothing at all to do with the Day of Rage and they weren't too pleased to be immersed in the nightmare swarming around them.

September 11th Ten-Year Anniversary Memorial & SIOA Freedom Rally

I went downtown today for the 10-year anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001 and the SIOA Freedom Rally.

When I left my apartment in Brooklyn to head down they were reading the letter 'E' in the names of the victims. I grabbed the ferry on the East River, got to Wall Street, made my way up a few blocks and then through tight crowds and through checkpoints. By the time I got there they were up to the letter 'L'.

The site for the proposed Ground Zero Mega Mosque was right around the corner.

The always offensive Westboro Baptist Church nutcases showed up. The signs were the usual garden variety evil including 'Firemen are Fags' and 'Thank God 4 9/11.' One of them wore a t-shirt that said 'Jews Killed Jesus.' The Phelps woman pictured here sang a song about people jumping out of the windows of the WTC and dying fireman to the tune of 'Another One Bites the Dust' by Queen.
You really had to see the NYPD cops' faces watching these creatures. After about an hour of their taunting they were escorted out of the area by the police.

September 11th Commemorative Street Art: The Williamsburg Mural

Today I came across this block long mural in my neighborhood commemorating September 11, 2001 and the Fire Department of New York City. It goes down the entire block, which is pretty long.

The images are big and sweeping. It reminds me of Lichtenstein and Rosenquist with the use of appropriated images, some of them taken from that day, others artistically expressed. There is a lot in it and it's actually interesting and well executed.
But something is missing.

There is not one single American flag.

The subversive quality left me feeling kind of sick.

The wide angle image of Ground Zero in the center is very effective in the large format. I tried to capture it in the three pictures below.
It was one of the best parts.

The other good part is this photo of a fireman taking equipment from his truck.
His expression is haunting.

I hope he was one of the guys who made it out.

Signs of Sanity in New England

During our travels throughout the bluest of blue New England this time around I did not see one single 'Obama 2012' bumper sticker. Not one. Not in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire nor in Maine. Today while in Stonington, Maine I saw one that said 'Palin 2012: Keep the Change' and this one pictured above, which I rather like.

Fallen in Combat Installation Blue Hill, Maine

While vacationing in Maine on the way up we came across this outdoor anti-war installation in Blue Hill, Maine. It's been up since the Iraq war started in 2003.

Each time the grass is cut on the lawn each flag is taken up by volunteers and then replaced one by one.

There is a white flag for every US soldier killed in action in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. The blue flags are the Maine state flags which signify the fallen service men and women from Maine.

It was like a small cemetery.

It is set up one someone's front lawn right across the road from the American Legion Duffy-Westcott Post 85.

I had been meaning to take some pictures of this thing taped to a post. I could never quite figure out what it was supposed to be.

It says:

Seems like someone's still got a crush on Obama despite the growing consensus that he's the absolute worst president in the history of the United States.

Now that I've had time to look at it, I'm still not sure I know what it means.

Patriotic Random Shot: Woodstock, New York

While up in Woodstock, New York this weekend I noticed this large American flag draped in front of a gas station.

It got my attention because Woodstock is not exactly known as a bastion of American patriotism. You don't see a lot of U.S. flags around town other than the rainbow ones so I took a closer look.

It is a memorial flag in honor of someone who was killed in the World Trade Center.

And a heartfelt show of gratitude for the dedication and excellence of service of our U.S. Armed Forces

The Rise of The Freedom Tower July 2011

On my way into work this morning I noticed that the Freedom Tower downtown is rising up in the city skyline. It took me by surprise because it's been so long. I had to take some pictures.

Please click to enlarge. I used a much higher resolution in these shots so they get really big. When you click, then click again! You can actually see the American flag flying under the cranes especially in the bottom few shots.

It is a beautiful day today, sparkling and clear. Just as it was on September 11, 2001.

Almost ten years ago I stood in this very spot and watched the towers of our World Trade Center burn and fall.

I just heard that it is about 60% completed but it doesn't look very much taller than the Woolworth Building so far.

Here you can see the cranes lifting the steel into place.

I watched the World Trade Center being built when I was a kid. I had been to the observation deck at the top many times. And for a short time I worked on the 97th floor of the South Tower.

I watched as they were destroyed and fell in 2001. I was running late for work that day. I came out of my building and saw what was happening. It was two minutes after the second plane hit.

A friend of mine was killed in the attacks. He was 26 years old and didn't even work in the World Trade Center. He was only there for a breakfast meeting that morning.

Now I'm watching the rebuilding of the site ten years later. Though it is exciting to see them putting up the new tower, it is also very sad. My heart has never left the people who were in the airplanes, those who were inside the WTC and the Pentagon, and all of the first responders who gave their lives.

UPDATE - Sunday, July 31, 2011: Here's a couple more pictures from the New Jersey side of the Hudson River. This was from inside the car on the way into the Lincoln Tunnel. It looks a lot bigger from this point of view. It's going to bring back the balance in the skyline in lower Manhattan.

I came across another eye-catching bit of anti-Obama street art today in Williamsburg. I always get a kick out them.

Similar to the one I reported on earlier, again we have President Barry Soetoro and Frankenstein's monster. But this time with the addition of American flag-draped coffins and cheesecake photos. An odd mix.

What it suggests to me is that the White House occupant doesn't have his mind on the country's interests. At the center of it all what exists is only him and him alone, the malignant narcissist.

Word is he doesn't have a prayer in 2012.

I Love the East River Ferry!

So rare that something in this town is actually done right. In a city that takes, takes, take and then takes some more, the new East River Ferry is a Godsend.

In June the new NY Waterways ferries were launched and it has changed my life. For those of us like myself who have been captives of the MTA, New York City's subway system, it is nothing less than a blessing. And since it is privately run and owned, it is vastly superior an experience.

How wonderful to be able to sit by the river in the morning and get your thoughts and your day in perspective.

What a great way to start and end your workday. The waters of the East River are calm. The isle of Manhattan awaits.

Here comes the boat. And right on time.

Here's a wide shot to show just how big this thing is.

'Hero'? Yeah, some hero. Sworn to defend and protect the U.S. Constitution and gave away national defense information. I call that a traitor.

Speaking of traitors, President Barry is in town today and kicked off his visit at a gala LGBT fundraiser where he talked about his 'evolving' position on gay marriage.

One of my readers sent me these two below photos early this morning. Someone thought so highly of this 'art' they decided it would be better if it were 'enhanced.'

In an attempt to cover the word 'traitor' that was written across Manning's face, a plastic bag or some sort of tape was placed over it. So my reader took the plastic off and shot the second photo. Hat tip: The Stone Man.

Oddly enough this is supposed to be Qaddafi in Libya. I never would have guessed it. It must have been taken from a very early image before he morphed into the Michael Jackson of Middle East dictators.

Obama Bows to Islamic Aggression: New York City Rally for Israel

I went to the rally for Israel in Manhattan today. There was a pretty good crowd for a last minute gathering in response to Barry's call for Israel to redraw her borders.

Personally, I am reeling from his willful blindness to pure evil. The endorsement of an
American president, no matter how popular or not in the Islamic world, especially one who's name is Barack Hussein Obama, is a siren call to arms for terrorists like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran, et al. It is irretrievable.

The damage is done and cannot be undone.

Dov Hikind, New York State Assemblyman. A Democrat, who, probably, in all likelihood voted for Barry.

UPDATE: During the interview, Hikind said that though he supported him in 2008, that he will NOT be supporting Obama's bid for re-election. Video of that interview can be seen here.

Let's hope that sentiment carries through. Why anyone with any sense at all voted for that traitor in the first place I will never, ever know!

There was a swarm of local and national media there like NPR and FOX News. But what good does it do? The media is generally in bed with the enemy.

The NK were there. This man was stopped by the police more than once for trying to confront the people at the pro-Israel rally.

I spotted this on a lamp post on the way home tonight.

It was an unusual surprise, especially here in the Leftist wild grazing grounds of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The honor of being demonized in street art normally reserved for figures on the Right has apparently taken on a new target.

It delights me, but probably not for the same reasons that the artist had in mind.

Barack Hussein Obama, truly the Frankenstein Monster of the Democrat Party. An ideological demonic creation stitched together with the dead and decomposing parts of failed ideas.

Methinks the spectacular killing of Osama bin Laden last week in Abbotabad has mobilized his base against him.

It was such a beautiful day the plan was to be there for only about an hour to cover the anti-American lunacy.

In attendance were the usual supporters of murderers and criminals like Mumia abu Jamal and Lynne Stewart.

It probably hurt the sun to shine on these people.

New York City Tax Day Tea Party 2011

I went to the 2011 New York City Tax Day Tea Party today downtown at Foley Square organized by TeaParty365.

MC'd by David Webb. Speakers included, Andrew Sullivan, Charles Payne, Andrew Wilkow, Mike Church, Janks Morton, William "Bill" Shea, Jr., Martin Gillespie, and AnnaMarie McEvoy. And, special musical guest, John King!

It was a nippy Friday in April, but there was a pretty nice turnout.

Here's the 'WTF' moment. Though infiltrators weren't expected, these two dopes showed up in Batman and Robin costumes. I guess they were trying to provoke a situation because they were bobbing and dancing around the crowd making themselves just annoying enough.

They were ignored.

Leftist Violent Street Art: The Incitement Edition

This street artist has been defacing buildings in my area for years with the same old tedious tripe. None of it is ever worth photographing or even mentioning but this latest item caught my eye.

It seems like violence is all they have to offer as they demonize the Right and the Tea Party. London was besieged by violent leftist riots today. Pretty nasty business.

The world seems to be devolving into a brutal dark age. Europe is going up in flames as is the Middle East.

Is this person really serious?
If this is an attempt to be 'street', it makes me laugh. But what isn't funny is the Left's eternal attraction to violence.

By the way, what ever happened to the anti-war movement?

We talked about a variety of topics including, 9/11, al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, Egypt, the rise of global radical Islamic jihad, President Obama, the persecution of Christians in Islamic countries, Tariq Ramadan and the Muslim Brotherhood, the KSM trials, the Ground Zero Mosque, Israel and more.

Scheuer was the first head of the CIA's Osama bin Laden Unit, from 1996-1999 and remained a counterterrorism analyst until 2004.

Public Service Reminder: Seat of Political Hate Edition

There's been a lot of talk and blame going on about where all the volatile political rhetoric comes from. The finger pointing from the left and the media is unbelievable.

For those of us who have been on the front lines and those who have been paying close attention over the last few years it's a joke. In my own experience I've been called every name in the book, shoved, had my camera grabbed at, me grabbed at, and struck in the face with the wooden handle [remember when those where allowed at public demonstrations?] of an anti-war sign by one of the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition organizers up at West Point. Counter demonstrators waving American flags at anti-war protests have had to have a wall of police protection from the throbbing mobs of hate.
So please! Spare us the lies.

Mini Me: 1999 - December 9, 2010

I can't think of a sadder way to end this decade than to say goodbye to the best dog I had the pleasure to know. Mini Me. This humble blog post tribute cannot put fully into words how I feel about losing Mini Me--about the years we spent together and everything that he was. But I want to mark it for posterity here.

It was a freezing cold January morning in 2000. It had been below zero for weeks. Very cold for New York City. While driving through Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn we stopped at a light on Classon Avenue I happened to look to my left and saw a skeleton eating from a garbage bag in the early cold light. I said to my then boyfriend, "Get him and don't let him get away."

We got him in the car and I wrapped a towel around him. Nearly frozen he managed to give me a teeny wag with the tip of his tail as we headed home. I had two other big dogs and figured, just get him in the house, then figure out what to do later. He was in such bad shape I couldn't even look at him. All bones. I could feel the outline of his pelvis. He had scars on his head. It was an awful sight. I realize until the next day that he was only a puppy, maybe about 5 months old. But he held his own with my 90-pound Alaskan Malamute and nearly as big Rottweiler.

After one night of food, sleep, warmth, and a bath in the morning, he was running around like a jack rabbit. All toes, ears, and tails flying. A funny-looking dog who grew to be magnificent. He got the nickname 'Mini Me' from the Austin Powers movie because he looked just my my big Rottie mix, only much smaller.
I wasn't going to keep him but he ended up staying.

I've never met a dog with more heart or spirit. He got me through some tough times and made me smile and laugh despite how I felt. He taught me more than I already understood about survival. Mini Me did everything in the biggest way he could--bigger than he was. Jumped higher, ran faster, find the biggest stick and would drag it over for me to throw. He'd bring half a tree if he could get it to move. A real dog's dog. He always came when I called.

A German Shepherd, Rottweiler mix of some unknown combination. When people asked, I said he was a 'Brooklyn Dingo.' He did back flips, side flips, caught sticks and Frisbees in the air while doing a pretzel twist and then land on his feet. Mini Me was a natural guard dog. I'll miss his huge bark, his gentleness, his intelligence, sensitivity, and his sense of humor. Mini was a tail-waggin' dog who was right there with you. He was hugged and kissed everyday. We were very close and I loved him very much.

I saved him once and he saved me a thousand times.
Goodbye Mini Me. Thank you for being my dog and for loving me for just me.
If the Good Lord permits, I hope to see you in Heaven. I'll miss you forever.

There is rarely a day that one can walk through Williamsburg and not be confronted with something obscene. This pleasant image caught my eye this morning.

How nice! A severed head from a suicide bomber who has just earned a halo.

Strange fascination the left has with glorifying terrorists and murderers.
This thing is big and loud. It screams on the wall.
The hearts? Well, that's anyone's guess.

In person, it's much, much worse.

'Refudiate' Named Word of the Year by Oxford University Press

I noticed that the Oxford University Press building on Madison Avenue has a window display for their Word of the Year announcement. How delicious! I had to take a few shots.
Being a word lover I adore 'refudiate'. The good folks at the press chose wisely and showed that they are freely engaged in the world of ideas and ignoring politically correct restraints. Especially in the context of Sarah Palin's famous tweet about the Ground Zero Mosque.

My First Day at the Gun Range

I finally went to the West Side Rifle & Pistol Range this past weekend. I had been meaning to do this for a long time. SO glad I went! The instructor was great! Everyone was very friendly. I learned a lot about safety and shooting, at least about handling .22 caliber rifles, and I can't wait to go back.

Looks like the annual Muslim Day Parade in New York City got a make over.

There were, of course, the usual features. The prayer on Madison Avenue. Though much smaller, shorter and less ceremonial than in previous parades.

The women were pretty decked out.

And some looked quite beautiful.

Well, maybe not all quite so decked out.

In this video the marchers are shouting, "We are the Muslims! The mighty, mighty Muslims!" Hardly a humble or inclusive attitude.

In this video they insist, "From East to West, Islam is the best!"

VIDEO: More boastful chanting. "Everywhere we go, people want to know WHO WE ARE!

It was a strange mishmash of American patriotism on the surface with undertones of youthful militancy.

"MUJAHIDEEN" kid's sweatshirt.

At first glance, it looked like his t-shirt said 'I Love NY'. Guess not.

What was most notable about this parade was the somewhat toned down quality and the sudden presence of American flags.

The parades are getting smaller and as usual there were only a tiny handful of spectators, mostly bewildered tourists wandering through the midtown streets probably wondering where they landed.

Gone were the black flags of jihads waving as in previous parades replaced by pre-printed signs and the veneer of toting American flags.

Also conspicuously absent where the elected NYC officials who have marched before like Anthony Weiner [D] and Robert Jackson [D].

A kinder, gentler and perhaps even warmer, fuzzier Muslim Day Parade?

In these two short videos the march makes its approach to the end.

A sudden debut of a huge American flag placed on the stage at the the post parade fair at the park on 23rd Street was quite a surprise indeed.

The sound isn't the greatest, but listen closely if you can to this creepy song sung by little girls. "What is Al-lah? What is Is-lam? What is I-mam?"

September 11th Memorial & Ground Zero Mosque Protest, New York City 2010

September 11, 2001.
An event so horrendous it could only be referred to by the date it took place.

At the mosque protest, I spoke to the sister and mother of fallen FDNY fireman, Gary R. Box. The above photo was taken by someone in a car in the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel as he was running to the scene that morning. The family had seen it only recently for the first time on a website. It was the last photo of him ever taken.

It was an intense and emotional day in New York and for me personally as well. There was so much going on all at once at this sprawling event. So much to see and think about. I'll start at the beginning.

The main memorial event is huge, streets are closed off for blocks. I arrived during the reading the names of victims. It was incredibly emotional. I had to really get a hold of myself as I was completely breaking down in sobs on the street.

Working my way through the crowds, there they were, as predictable as mold, the 9/11 truthers.

I skipped by them quickly. No need to linger. One asked I was from the C.I.A.

Next I ran into these two guys below from Florida wheeling a huge cross.

Shortly thereafter, they stumbled into a hippie rally for religious freedom.

So funny to see the Left stick up for religion. Especially when it comes to Islam of all things. It sounded like all that inter-faith dialogue got a little bit heated and overcooked.

Further down the street... I came upon another group gathered.

In the middle of it all was this ex-Muslim gentleman talking about Islam to a group of people and confronted other Muslims. Video below!

Now, on to the rally against the mysteriously funded Park 51/Cordoba House/Islamic Bridge-Building Unifying Community Center-You-Know-Just-Like-The-92nd-St.Y & The YW & YMCA / Landing Gear Mega Mosque at Ground Zero.
It was HUGE. The crowds stretched for a few blocks on both sides of the street.

I have to apologize because one of my camera's memory cards konked out and I was unable to film most of the event. I was, however able to get the seven embedded takes below. Talk about frustration. There I was in a great spot in the press box in the middle of this photo-rich place and no camera.

This post is dedicated to all of our brave service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I came across this wonderful American Legion post next to a historic cemetery in Maine. It's a poignant and sad reminder of the supreme sacrifices of the United States Armed Forces.

I'm on vacation this week in Stonington, Maine. I spotted this sign in the back window of a pick-up truck. Maybe the owner should drive it over to Bar Harbor where Captain Kickass and family are spending the weekend.

UPDATE: Our dinner was interrupted by the roaring boom of jet fighters buzzing Penobscot Bay because of the President's holiday. The restaurant shook and excited customers ran for the windows to get a look. Our military really is impressive and the bay at sunset must have been a beautiful sight from the sky.
I wondered if President God-Damn-America and our Tea Party-phobic First Lady in their travels across this great land have possibly come to realize that America is a great country.

Street Art: The UnaBomber is the New Che Edition

When I first saw this I wasn't sure if it was a poster for a local band, just more 'edgy' street art or maybe related to the last appearance of the Unabomber I shot recently. Either way, the mainstreaming of this murderer isn't exactly a settling feeling.

This actually goes a step further. Notice the detail paid to the assembling of what looks like a laptop bomb.

It turned out to be a poster for some music thing around here. These idiots think they are clever, but it is sickening. Here is what their hero did to his fellow human beings.

Heading for the subway this morning I spotted this bumper sticker from NewsBusters.org prominently placed on the back window! What a refreshing bit of sanity here in the seat of Obama County, Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
