Muslim Day Parade
A parade is usually a happy joyful event. Music, dancing, reveling in life. This was more of a march than a parade and a somber and depressing one at that. Here is my first slideshow of the first part of the event. There are four more to follow. I invite you to please look closely at them all. The pictures speak for themselves.Before the dirge-like march began, I took photos of a huge blue plastic tarp that was unfurled to ready for the opening prayer--which seemingly took forever. It outstretched the entire intersection at 41st Street and Madison Avenue. The men were gathered in the front and the 'sisters' were told, as they already knew, to sit in the back. They did and took their places all the way in the back.

I wound my way across the edges of the mat taking pictures, being careful not to step on anyone. Then I spotted a good place right in front to under a tent to take a few shots ...
... andwound up here. I thought it was quite unusual for a woman to be leading at the very apex of this massive prayer. I had seen her earlier carrying the Palestinian flag. Perhaps there is some significance in that.
After taking a handful of pictures, a man suddenly came hastily running up on my right with his arm outstretched. He cried out, 'You can't stand there. You have to move. You broke their prayer!' I realized it was none other than Democratic New York City Councilman, Robert Jackson who I had photographed at a previous CAIR protest against Omar Mohammedi back in May.Here are the photos I took of that moment in time under the tent.
I had no idea I had just short-circuited their connection to Mecca. Stepped on the 'third rail' as it were. I guess you can see from their faces here below, that they weren't too happy about that. If looks could kill.
Democratic Congressman, Anthony Weiner was there. I followed the march down Madison Avenue. There were only chants of 'allahu akbar' and 'East to West, Islam is the best.' Not a very inclusive message when you think of it.Here are the photos that I took on the way down to 23rd Street. Lots of interesting and strange sights to see indeed.
Here is my last photo slide show for the day. In it are photos of the protests that took place at the end of the march. It is quite long so bear with me and I will probably divide it into two parts at some point tonight.Update:

I've known for years that they have no shame in laying the prayer mat just anywhere, in the middle of the street, and now I see they have no shame in holding a parade, complete with jihadi flags and slogans, near the anniversary of 9/11. That can only flow from a sense of entitlement--the belief that the whole world is rightfully theirs. The religion of, "We demand".

UI, as I said in my previous comment, I don't know where to start. I just looked through your photos of the event and I'm angered, saddened, thrilled, and confused. All I can say is that I propose a National Christian Day Parade and a National Jewish Day Parade and a National Buddhist Day Parade and a National Atheist Day Parade and a National Mormon Day Parade and a National Hindu Day Parade and a National Shinto Day Parade and a National Confucianist Day Parade and so on and so on and so on. AND, I want all the fundamentalists of all these different religions to come out and speak sedition and hatred toward every other religion, group. ideology, nation, and culture. Why? Because I want to see how long the Islamos and their moonbat friends take to call the ACLU saying they are "offended." I am happy that we have a Muslim Day Parade. It proves that Muslims are not oppressed in the US. I am concerned that Islamist Supremacists openly advocate their intolerance without challenge from moderates.

Why should the council give permission for them to have their prayers in the middle of NYC? This is getting insane. You know what the problem is ehre? Muslims are so unaware of their own religious teachings that they themselvs give Islam a bad name. The Koran is a continuation of the teachings of the Bible. All wrong things that have been said about the Koran can only justify your ignorance and the fact that your statements are also going against the Bible. Women who are covered are not opressed but rather the modern half-way nude women is opressed. A Chrisitian professor in D.C. says that many human rights reforms took place during the time of Prophet Muhammad and under the Rashidain Caliphate, which was from about 610 to 661 AD. John Esposito, a professor in Georgetown University, said that Muhammad also reformed women’s rights which had a major affect in marriage, divorce, and inheritance. Other cultures, including those of the West, did not give women such legal status as the time of Muhammad until centuries later. Esposito is not even Muslim but he knows what Islam is really about because he has studied Islam through the Koran. Jihad does not mean that you can go around and kill anyone you want. Your inner struggle is the greater Jihad. If I were struggling to get as much knowledge as I can, that would be considered a great Jihad in Islam. If I controlled myself from lying, cheating, and cursing that would be considered the great Jihad. The Koran says that if someone kills one person, he has killed the entire humanity. If someone saves the life of one person, he has saved all of humanity. Islam gives respect to all human beings, no matter what religion, race, or gender. Please, learn Islam from the Koran and sayings of the prophet, not by the actions of the Muslims. I wouldn't be able to call all Christians or Jews terrorist because of the actions of one or two people. You should do the same. People can be who they want to be. It doesn't mean that their religion or culture is that way.
