Riding Out the Storm

I live in Zone A, which is the mandatory evacuation zone, so I'm waiting out hurricane Sandy farther inland on higher ground.  Hope everyone out there stays safe until this thing passes.

UPDATE: 10/30/12
Here are some pictures of what the city looks like tonight.  All of lower Manhattan is completely blacked out from 14th Street all the way down to the tip of the island.

(please click to enlarge all photos!)
Here above you can see the Con Edison building located at 13th Street, amazingly still lit after massive multiple explosions last night.  Everything below it, including the Freedom Tower is dark.  The couple of red lights that you see along the East River Drive are emergency vehicles as the road is closed.

The Williamsburg Bridge is lit on the Brooklyn side halfway across and then at the midway point the Manhattan side goes completely dark.

The wind has picked up as of 5:40 PM but nothing major yet. I'm glad not to be near the waterfront tonight. The wind alone that comes off the river can be incredibly powerful.

Lights have been intermittently flickering here in Brooklyn. Power has been shut off in lower Manhattan.

The wind is roaring wildly.

Rode it out in a Midtown hotel after "Occupy vs TEA Party". Half expected to see you there.

Hey Mikey Lee,
Glad to hear you are doing okay after the storm.
I was planning on going to the Occupy vs Tea Party debate but we decided to go out of town for the weekend at the last minute. I heard it was great!
