Obama Street Art: The Gimme, Gimme, Gimme Edition
I had been meaning to take some pictures of this thing taped to a post. I could never quite figure out what it was supposed to be.
It says:
"Give Us Love, Give Us Infamy,
Give Us Anarchy, Or Give Us Back America"
Seems like someone's still got a crush on Obama despite the growing consensus that he's the absolute worst president in the history of the United States.
Now that I've had time to look at it, I'm still not sure I know what it means.
Must be the 'gimme' culture.

Hi,
I think it's more of a threat. Not sure "us" is supposed to be but I doubt if it's hard working employed citizens.
"Give us love": A cry for acceptance" (the 'or else' comes later) as 'we' loiter about and glare at you as you walk to work.
"Give us infamy": A cry for respect? The rapper community as an example which celebrates thugs, crime and etc. You know we're bad, so let us see the fear we engender as we loiter about waiting for the gov't check you paid into.
"Give us anarchy": No love, no infamy, no property (see last statement) and you will get anarchy
"or give Us back America": What you worked for was stolen from us, give it back (or see #3).
Or the whole thing is a product of a drug-addled mind. Hmm, that sounds like most from the Camp Progressive.

We are witnessing the full flower of the 'Gimme Culture' in Europe today.
I, too, interpret this as a threat.
