Political Restaurant Sign: The 'Mitt Romney Hates the Beach' Edition

I spotted this curious message today written on a sidewalk sign outside of a dive joint called The Surf Bar here in the Prog Mecca of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Mitt Romney 'hates the beach'?  He does?  I have no idea what this refers to.  Liberals sure are strange.

UPDATE:  Alright.  Now I get it.  It turns out that it likely has to do with a New York Times 'investigative' piece back in June 2012 [which explains why it  completely blew by me] on how Mitt Romney ticked off his pot-smoking neighbors in La Jolla, California.
